So, you’re a human design projector.
And you’re trying to wrap your mind around this whole “wait for the invitation” thing.
How do you have a successful soul-led business if you have to sit around and wait for clients and customers to invite you to work with them?
Contrary to popular belief, waiting for an invitation is not a passive process.
Here are the 4 types of projector invitations and how to leverage them in your business:
1.) THE EXPLICIT PROJECTOR INVITATION
This is the kind of invitation that most projectors think they need to wait for in order to book new clients and customers. An explicit projector invitation is when someone reaches out to you directly with a clear request.
Examples:
✨ “You’re my dream practitioner! How do we work together?”
✨ “I just saw your new offer! Where’s the link to buy it?”
✨ “Would you be able to create a custom project for me?”
✨ “I saw you on a networking call and I’d love to connect.”
✨ “Would you like to be a guest on my podcast?”
✨ “I have a referral for you. What’s the best way to connect you two?”
In order to receive explicit projector invitations, you need to make your business visible.
If no one knows that your business exists, no one will be able to invite you. If you want explicit projector invitations to pour in, it’s important to choose a marketing strategy that feels aligned and resonant so that you show up with ease and share your incredible expertise and talent.

While explicit invitations are ideal for projectors, ONLY relying on them will cause you to miss out on a goldmine of opportunity to create more clients and cash in your business.
2.) THE IMPLICIT PROJECTOR INVITATION
As a projector, you have the gift of penetrating the identity center of whoever is in your aura. This is what allows you to take in the other person and guide them to reach their full potential and/or become more efficient. You’re able to sense and see the gaps holding someone back and what needs to happen next in order for them to create change and forward movement.
If you’re not tuned into the implicit projector invitation, you might be leaving a treasure trove of opportunity on the table.
An implicit projector invitation is not direct—it’s energetic.
Let’s say you’re at a networking event, diving deep into conversation with someone you just met. All of a sudden this person opens up and shares a challenge that she’s been struggling with. As she continues to lean in and share more, you notice yourself leaning in too. You may even notice a desire bubbling up to guide [this is the magic of your aura subtly wanting to get to work].
This “leaning in” sensation, both from them and you, is an implicit projector invitation.
Instead of acting on your impulse to guide, step back and check in:
“I’m so grateful that you feel comfortable sharing this with me, AND I notice that I have all kinds of questions for you. This is actually my zone of genius and how I serve people in my business. Would you like to hop on a complimentary call this week and we can get this challenge handled for you?”
I can’t tell you how many times this exact scenario has happened to me and every time, the answer is always a resounding YES.
Not only will people appreciate the generous sharing of your time and expertise, they will likely be eager to hear how they can continue working with you at the end of the conversation!
3.) THE SELF-MADE PROJECTOR INVITATION
This may surprise you, but as a projector, you are not powerless to make an invitation.
If you’re sitting on the sidelines, expecting explicit invitations to roll in, do get out into the world to make your business visible, AND, don’t be afraid to make them! This is especially important if you have a new business or you’re coming back into your business after a long hiatus.
Here are some examples of what a self-made projector invitation looks like:
🪄 Reach out to a past client and invite them to join your new offer.
🪄 Create a piece of content with an invitation to book a discovery call with you.
🪄 Attend a networking event and reach out to three people you vibed with to invite them to connect with you.
🪄 Reach out to someone you connected with and invite them to sample your service or product.
🪄 Reach out to a colleague you’ve been building a relationship with and invite them to collaborate with you.
When it comes to human design, it is of service for you as a projector to make invitations. After all, generators and manifesting generators are waiting for things to respond to and other projectors are waiting for an invitation!
The most important factor when it comes to making a self-made invitation is total detachment from the outcome. The moment you make an invitation with strings attached or where NO is not a valid option, is the moment you move out of alignment with your strategy.
Make an invitation, and then lean back.
Don’t chase down an answer.
Put it out there, let it breathe, and see what and who comes back.
If it’s a NO, let it go and move on to the next!
4.) THE DIVINE PROJECTOR INVITATION
Have you ever sat in meditation, been in the shower, or participated in a profound spiritual ceremony, only to experience the dropping in of a potent idea, message, or calling?
This is a divine projector invitation. A divine projector invitation is sent by spirit.
I received a divine projector invitation at the end of 2022 when I was participating in a sound healing journey on the beach in Sayulita. While immersed in the soothing frequencies of my friend’s crystal bowls, I heard a clear call from spirit, “it’s time to bring back the old ways.”
Around that time, I had become curious about indigenous communities and the way of life that was stolen from them as a result of colonization. I had been steeped in learning about the heartbreaking history of residential schools and the banning of indigenous ceremonies and practices, especially in the regions now known as Canada and the United States. I had also become intrigued by my own heritage and the indigenous practices of my ancestors, which lie in the Celtic tradition.
When I heard this mystical message on the beach, a seed was planted in my heart. The seed continued to incubate and grow until I knew it was time to weave what I was learning into an offer that would bring back the “old ways” to business. I launched the SUSTAINABLE SUCCESS intensive in March of 2023 and it ended up being my most successful offer of the year.
Divine projector invitations can be subtle or jarring. They may feel distinctly “other” because they’re not born from your mind, but rather, downloaded from beyond. They want to find life and expression in the world through you.
If you’ve been handed a divine projector invitation to create a new offer, write a piece of content, take a particular action in your business, or move in a new direction, I invite you to answer the call.
Spirit can see the big picture of your purpose and is always on your side, guiding you towards success and fulfillment.
As you can see, following your strategy as a projector who owns a soul-led business is both an active and passive process.
While you can wait for an invitation to share your gifts, you can also make the invitation. Show up with true detachment and see what comes your way.
There are two additional pieces to note when it comes to accepting or making projector invitations:
💟 Do you feel recognized by the person on the other end of the invitation?
Without true recognition, a projector invitation is not aligned.
I recently had to bow out of a collaboration because while I was invited to share human design with this person’s community, I didn’t feel truly recognized by her. This was bringing up feelings of bitterness. I felt more like a checkbox to this person; like her invitation was extractive, rather than honoring of the value I know I would bring to the table.
You’ll know when you’re recognized by someone because you’ll feel a deep sense of reverence and appreciation from them. They will see your guidance as precious and take action to implement it. They also won’t hold back from sharing how grateful they are for you. This is why many projectors feel nourished by “words of affirmation.”
In the world of business, the clients who recognize you are the ones who express how happy they are with your services or the ones who continue to come back time and time again to participate in your programs. The collaborators who recognize you are the ones who continue to build a genuine relationship with you, refer you, invite you to opportunities, and compensate or reciprocate the sharing of your gifts.
💟 What is your authority communicating about the invitation?
When you receive a projector invitation or you want to make an invitation in your business, check in with your authority. This is especially true for BIG invitations, like deciding whether or not to take someone on as a client or moving forward with a PR opportunity that will put your business on the map.
Just because you receive an invitation, does not mean it’s aligned or that you have to accept it. Your authority will reveal whether it’s correct for you, or not.
In the example above, I did not honor my authority before accepting the collaborator’s invitation. I said YES right away because I was vibing with her and riding the high of my emotions. If I gave myself space to ride my emotional wave to clarity, my answer would have been NO.
For a quick guide on your authority, check yours below:
If you have emotional authority, notice the invitations that continue to excite you over time.
If you have splenic authority, notice the invitations that are an instinctive yes or no.
If you have ego authority, notice the invitations your heart is in.
If you have self-projected authority, talk it out and notice the invitations that are most authentic to who you are.
If you have mental authority, talk it out and notice the invitations that “sound” right according to the quality of your voice and the resonance in your body.
If you’re a projector who also owns a soul-led business, share in the comments which type of projector invitation is your favorite and which type of projector invitation feels the most edgy [that you’d really like to practice after reading this] ⬇️
