Operating in the depths of your subconscious mind is a matrix of programming that rules you.
This matrix rules the way you think, the way you feel, and the way you act. While it may seem like you’re in complete control of how you operate, this isn’t always the case.
So, how does this matrix form and how do you work with it to stop sabotaging success?
Fundamentally, humans are hardwired for survival.
As you grow up and experience the world around you, you learn what thoughts, feelings, and actions WORK—what keeps you alive—and then, with repetition, what works gets programmed into the subconscious mind.
Some life experiences foster a deep sense of love, trust, and connectedness, while others foster fear and anxiety. The former experiences generally promote ways of being that are conducive to success, while the latter generally promote ways of being that sabotage success.
We all have both types of programming to some degree.
To give you a metaphor, imagine standing on a forest path, only to look up and see an intricate web of branches and leaves keeping the light out. If only you could clear the canopy, the path to success would be bright and clear.
Essentially, the forest of your subconscious mind is the thing keeping you stuck.
On the surface, you feel frustrated that you’re not getting the results you desire. You feel like you’re not doing enough or there’s something wrong with you or that other people are to blame for your lack of success.
Below the surface, your subconscious programming is rearing its ugly head. Somewhere along the way, your subconscious mind decided that what you want isn’t safe and therefore, it will do whatever it takes to sabotage you and keep you away from achieving it.
For example, let’s say no matter what you do, you can’t break through the plateau you’ve hit in your income.
Little do you know that this is happening because when you grew up, your subconscious mind observed that outshining your siblings made them resent you.
Since you are hardwired for survival, it was imperative to remain a part of the pack. To avoid being extricated from the pack, you learned not to shine too brightly, including becoming too successful.
In the present day this subconscious programming is still ruling you, therefore you sabotage your efforts any time you come close to breaking through the plateau. This might look like losing steam in the middle of a launch or bombing a speaking gig that would have led to signing more clients.
While this is just one example, you can see how you consciously might want something, but unconsciously, you repel it if it’s in direct conflict with your subconscious programming.
SO frustrating—I know.
While some people never need to, or want to, work with the subconscious mind to stop sabotaging success, I know you are not one of those people.
You are determined to do what you love and be successful at it.
So how do you stop sabotaging success?
🪄 Quite simply, to stop sabotaging success, you need to shine a light on your subconscious programming and become aware of how it’s getting in your way.
🪄 From there, you need to consciously choose to take actions that lie outside of it.
Essentially, you need to clear out the canopy and begin to form new subconscious programming that will allow you to succeed in life and business.
For example, maybe you start noticing your tendency to stop in the middle of a launch or bomb your speaking gigs just as you’re about to shatter your income glass ceiling. Through the power of noticing [and working with your nervous system], you begin to follow through on your launches or prepare a presentation for your talks instead of winging them.
In case you didn’t already know, the subconscious mind is my zone of genius.
It’s difficult to be your own objective observer because you can’t always see how your subconscious programming is playing out. It’s known as “having a blind spot.”
As a psychology major and a former mental health counselor, I have become adept at uncovering subconscious blocks and helping my clients transform them.
And because I want you to stop sabotaging your success so you can finally manifest the soul-led life and business that you dream of, I would love to offer you a LIFE & BUSINESS BY DESIGN coaching session to shine a light on your subconscious programming and set you free from its grasp.
That is—if you’re feeling brave enough to go there. It’s not always fun inner work, but it’s definitely worth it.
If you’re ready to stop sabotaging success and claim your greatness, grab a spot here.
With love and awareness,
-Kayla
