If you’ve been around long enough, you know I struggled big time with adjusting to life in San Miguel de Allende last year.
I had been in Sayulita for so long, I didn’t know who I was outside of it.
This year, coming back has felt like coming home—not just to a place, but to the version of me I had left behind.
While I’m a firm believer that our power is sourced from within, there’s something to be said about the power our environment calls us into ✨
When I first stepped foot inside Casa Kiri Midoki last summer, I felt uncomfortable.
I felt unworthy of inhabiting a space straight out of a magazine; of having three floors to call my own with a rooftop view of the Parroquia.
In fact, everything about San Miguel de Allende—from the space I live in, to the charming cobblestoned streets, to the fairytale plaza at the heart of town—feels opulent.
There’s a level of luxury here that simply doesn’t exist in a dusty laid-back beach town.
Last year, I struggled to embrace it.
This year, I receive it with a grateful heart.
This year, I claim it.
And I know deep down that I can no longer settle for anything less.
So what changed?
This city and this home call me up.
They ask me to become a match for them—to rise into a way of being that plumbs the depths of my power; to step into the version of me who does not shrink from what she knows she’s capable of; to be the person who creates and receives this kind of luxury ⚡️
As I’ve been settling into another season in San Miguel de Allende, the beauty of my environment has been working its magic again.
It’s been revealing the places where I’m ready to evolve—in my business and my being.
It’s been showing me where more spine and structure is needed.
It’s been showing me where I need to stop softening my edges to be more relatable and liked.
The truth is, just as I am worthy of a space I love to live in, I am worthy of a business that holds me.
Not one that feels like spaghetti being thrown against the wall.
But one that is predictable, intentional, and deeply aligned.
Not one where I dim my potency.
But one that reflects the leader I was born to be.
So here’s my question for you: Is your environment calling you up?
Even if you can’t change cities or live in your dream home right now, you can still upgrade the experience of where you are by choosing to align with rituals that reflect the leader you’re here to be.
This is what we explored in Rooted Rituals, the second gathering in the SUSTAINABILITY SESSIONS series.
The rituals you devote yourself to are not just your routines.
They are mirrors for your worthiness.
They are portals to your power.
And just like San Miguel has been for me, they are catalysts for the kind of life and business you desire.
With love & expansion,
-Kayla
