$5,000 PER MONTH. This was my definition of success when I first opened my business.
If I didn’t make $5,000 within my first month, I was a failure.
So after booking seven sales conversations and receiving a “no” from every potential client, I was left with a whopping $0 earned and the belief that I was a complete and utter failure.
It didn’t take much to fall into a deep, dark hole of entrepreneurial despair.
Instead of focusing on the fact that I had booked SEVEN sales conversations, I focused on the lack of sales and clients.
This created so much fear and doubt that when the next month came and went, I created $0 in revenue AGAIN, leading me to question if I was cut out for entrepreneurship.
Whether you’ve just opened your soul-led business OR you’re ready to blast off into the next level of your soul-led business, there is one critical mindset shift you need to have in order to make your business successful.
Create a definition of success that serves you.
If I had a definition of success that served me, I wouldn’t have felt like a failure in my first year of business. I would have been able to see all of the amazing results that I actually did create, like enrolling 250 women in my first free challenge or booking seven sales conversations immediately after hanging up my “open” sign.
The thing is, unrealistic expectations and outlandish ideas of what success should look like blinds us from the truthβthat we are already inherently successful.
π₯ Opening a dream business IS a success.
π₯ Showing up to share a message IS a success.
π₯ Selling a free offer IS a success.
Success doesn’t have to be this BIG thing that we make it out to be.
In our society, we’ve been conditioned to believe that if we put in the effort, gratification will be instant.
All this does is create unrealistic expectations.
All this does is create boat loads of pressure to work harder.
All this does is disconnect us from source, from flow, from the Universe, from trust, from creativity and instead, it causes us to spin out into doubt and lack when we don’t hit our goals.
Instead of magnetizing success straight to us, we repel it.
And before we know it, we’re ready to give up on our business, our mission, our dream.
But, what if you had a definition of success that served you?
What if you looked around and chose to notice all of the little reasons you already are successful?
When I realized that my definition of success was sabotaging me, I changed it from making $5K in one month to ONE LIKE ON A FACEBOOK POST.
When I saw how many likes I was getting, something shifted within me.
Instead of feeling discouraged and disappointed, I felt ecstatic! I realized how much of an impact I was making in people’s lives and instead of spiraling into fear, doubt, and lack, I spiraled up into happiness, joy, and abundance.
Only then, did I create the initial result I was after.
Only then did people start buying my products, signing up for my workshops, and working with me 1:1.
In many ways, my success was like a snowball.
When I focused on the success I was creating, no matter how small, it got bigger and bigger, and before I knew it, it was too large to fit in my hands and I was ready to make a snowman.
So think about this for a moment:
π Are you putting too much pressure on yourself to reach a certain goal?
π Are you consistently feeling blocked in creating the results you desire?
π Are you sacrificing your happiness and inner peace to chase a number?
If you are, examine your expectations and definition of success.
π How can you re-write your definition of success in a way that serves you?
Whether you’re feeling stuck or stagnant after opening your dream business OR you’re ready to leap into the next level of your business, I would love to support you.
